Pronkstuk Centerpiece

Daniel Hulsbergen produces design pieces with materiality and history at their core. Hulsbergen aims to combine materials in ways that showcase craftsmanship, history and detail in objects that spark emotional reactions.

His series of sculptures entitled Pronkstuk – centerpiece – is emblematic of Hulsbergen’s design philosophy. Pronkstuk is a series of vases combining two traditional crafts. Broken Delfts Blauw vases are deftly repaired using a skeletal tracery of wickerwork, which supports and reinvents the pottery, drawing the eye of the viewer. The result is a stunning new object that brings the shattered vases back to life.
