Tyra van Mossevelde
Green Business Card
Tyra van Mossevelde initially worked as a graphic designer before narrowing her focus to infographics, a field she has embraced as it marries the skills needed for content creation, graphic design, and communication. She works on sustainability-oriented projects.
In 2011, van Mossevelde developed a business card that can be easily made using an autumn leaf from the garden. Fallen leaves gathered in the autumn and dried are cut into the shape of traditional business cards, which are then impressed with lettering to give them an embossed quality. As attention-grabbing as any business card, the Green Business Card fulfils its purpose of contact information sharing and, rather than going to the landfill or incinerator, can be simply discarded in a garden or forest.
